For semester 2.2, 2 of my modules, Full-Stack Developing and Portfolio 2 will be combined for a project to teach us how to make use of the agile methodology to develop a project.
Before we start our assignment, we are told to read and understand all the problem statements and select the one we want to work on.
The following are all the challenge statements we are given:
HELP FOR THE AGED AND ELDERLY
SUPPORT SYSTEM DURING A PANDEMIC
WAVE 234, HELPING EVERYONE
LEARNING IN THE NEW NORMAL
THE FUTURE OF SOCIAL ACTIVITIES IN A PANDEMIC
After many thoughts and consideration, I decided to select "SUPPORT SYSTEM DURING A PANDEMIC" as I wanted to work on a mobile application to support the elderly during tough times like this. All of the challenge statements are on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Here is the description of the challenge statement:
"During a lockdown or circuit breaker, all forms of physical contact, communication, and interaction are not allowed. Residents are confined strictly in their homes, with only limited trips outside the home to buy food or medical supplies permitted. There were many cases of hoarding and panic buying all over the world, not just for daily supplies but medical necessities such as surgical masks and hand sanitizers as well. As residents remain indoors 24/7, reports of abuse and quarrel among family members appeared, triggered in part by the lack of outlets to do something different or to fulfill personal daily routines. The old and vulnerable also require assistance with their needs like food, medicine, therapy, and companionship of family members. There are many more groups of individuals whose lives have been impacted by the lockdown or circuit breaker. What kind of services can be implemented and/or enabled by technology to support and help residents go through this difficult period?"
On the second day of the week, I manage to join my ideal challenge group, but I have to go through the process of getting selected by a group leader (also known as a scrum master), based on our mini "resume" we created to state our good and bad points. I am a better UI/UX designer and solid programming skills. I have been chosen by my groupmate, Jun Wei, coincidentally.
