It's a new year, 2021. After our short 2 weeks of holidays, we are back to school and we continue working on our project. We started off this sprint with a discussion on what it's needed to be done by end of this sprint and how we can separate the work and still get the functionality done. Although we started during the holiday, we are still behind time as there are many more task to be completed.

For this sprint, I aimed to complete what is not done last week, the news page design, get essential and donation page. I hope to complete this following task by this week so I can work other stuff such as retrieving updates on COVID-19 cases in Singapore.

After the discussion, I decided to start off with retrieving update on COVID-19 cases first as Jun Wei would like to work on the design of get essential and donation page. I proceed on designing for COVID-19 update cases.

As you can see there are many changes in the design I've done compared the prototype to the final one. This is because, I find that the original prototype is lacking of images and it does not look like an Apple application. I also decided to add more consistency and and readability. Here is how the design looks like. (Some missing information will be covered below)

Many of this things I am doing this my first time. I am learning and doing at the same time which takes up quite a lot of time which makes it a challenge for me. I also faced many difficulties throughout. Firstly, The unfamiliarity with Xcode's JSON to API format so I have to learn it myself. I believe I've learn it by mistakes after numerous times of failure and crashes.

Another challenges I faced was trying to find an API that actually retrieve the daily cases and updates. I tried finding from government's website and other sources but wasn't able to find one. Until 1 night, I managed to find one of it that retrieve from moh.gov.sg but it doesn't allow have the updates on new imported cases everyday but just the total. Better than nothing, I decided to use it.

Recapping on the skills I've learn in programming 2, I used "Postman" to helped me convert my API to JSON file for easier readability. I proceed on designing and the class and continuous to learn from YouTube.

At the end of the day, still got to get the work complete.
